SUMMARY:
Responsible for the direction and management of the bank’s sales and marketing focus. Leads the department and directs the development of strategies to promote the bank and increase the sales activity of the branch associates. Develops programs and goals to train associates on positive and successful sales behaviors. Serves as the bank’s primary liaison with advertising and public relations agencies. Directs market research, project planning, and advertising functions to accomplish the bank’s business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 years sales or marketing experience in a banking environment, including a comprehensive understanding of finance and the bank’s commercial and retail business lines
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Exception oral and written communication skills. Strong creative skills, as well as an ability to analyze market and competitor information and formulate strategies
• Demonstrated leadership, motivational, and human resource skills

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Guide the Executive team in developing and articulating a strategic sales and marketing vision and corporate style for the bank.
• Work with bank associates in individual markets to develop the best sales plan for them. This entails learning about the various markets and capitalizing on events and situations occurring there.
• Provide sales training to bank associates to better prepare them for communicating with customers, assessing needs, and recognizing opportunities that could lead to increasing bank business.
• Develop plans for integrating the bank into the various communities we serve and come up with products, campaigns, or other initiatives to support community initiatives.
• Prepare reports to management on results of training and sales efforts.
• Oversee coordination of special bank events, such as branch openings, special promotions, and anniversary events.
• Manage all customer communications and community involvement to ensure consistency and quality. This includes our external web site, as well as written communication or advertising.
• Develop and maintain sales support materials for use in branch lobbies and sales communications. Ensure the materials are kept up-to-date and reinforce the bank’s overall sales strategies.
